Basic Life Support (BLS) Training
Rehman College of Nursing (RCN) organized one day Basic Life Support (BLS) training session on September 24, 2020 at RCN. Basic Life Support Program focuses on CPR, i.e. Chest Compression and ventilation.This training was attended by the Staff Nurses of RMI and Teaching Staff of RCN.
This BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several Life-threatening Emergencies, give high-quality Chest Compressions, deliver appropriate Ventilations and provide early use of an AED. It helps to recognize Ventricular Fibrillation which is the most common Arrhythmia causing Cardiac Arrest. The following skills were taught to the participants:
- Cardiac Compressions for adult, infant and pediatric.
- Correct technique of Ventilations using Ambo Bag and Adjunct Devices.
- Use of AED.
- Relieving Chocking in all age groups.
