Safety is a top priority in the RCN Science Lab. Proper measures are in place to handle any potential hazards, and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) ensures a secure and controlled environment. To maintain professionalism and safety standards, students are required to follow a specific dress code while performing experiments. Within the RCN Science Lab, students have the opportunity to conduct various experiments related to biochemistry and microbiology. They can perform classic tests such as Benedict’s test, lipid emulsion test, and Ninhydrin test, as well as delve into more complex concepts like the Michaelis-Menten equation and calculating Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) using a stadiometer. The lab also provides facilities for Gram staining, an essential technique in microbiology.
Overall, the RCN Science Lab is a dynamic and engaging space that empowers students to actively participate in scientific exploration and research. It serves as a vital platform for students to acquire practical skills, reinforce theoretical knowledge, and develop a deeper appreciation for the world of science.
